ICSS Ltd. – General Terms and Conditions of Electrical Services
1. Definitions

“ICSS Ltd.” refers to the service provider carrying out electrical inspections and testing.

“Client” refers to the individual, company, or organisation requesting the service.

“Works” refers to all services, inspections, reports, repairs, or installations undertaken by ICSS Ltd.
2. Scope of Services
These Terms and Conditions apply to all electrical services carried out by ICSS Ltd., including but not limited to:

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
-
Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs)
-
Lightning Protection System Inspection and Testing
-
Emergency Lighting Inspection and Testing
-
Fire Alarm Testing and Inspection
-
Electrical Remedial Repairs
All services are carried out in accordance with BS 7671, relevant British Standards, and the Electrical at Work Regulations (NI) 1991.
3. Quotations

All quotations are based on information provided by the client and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

Quotations are based on in-hours working (typically Monday–Thursday, 08:00–16:30 & Friday, 08:00–13:30). Any out-of-hours works (evenings, weekends, or public holidays) will require a separate quotation.

Any additional works or variations outside the original scope will be subject to a separate or revised quotation.

Quotations assume full and unrestricted access to all relevant areas, boards, systems, and equipment.
4. Payment Terms

Payment terms will be as per agreement with the client and as stated on the relevant invoice.

Invoices will be issued upon completion of works or at agreed interim stages.

Late payments may incur interest or administration charges in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Reports, certificates, and documentation remain the property of ICSS Ltd. until full payment has been received.
5. Site Access and Health & Safety
The client is responsible for notifying ICSS Ltd. prior to arrival of:
- Any site-specific inductions
- Any health & safety requirements
- Any known hazards or access restrictions
- Risk Assessments and Method Statements will be provided upon request

Access must be granted to all distribution boards, sub-distribution boards, and control panels unless specific omissions have been agreed in writing before works commence.

Delays or waiting time caused by lack of access or information may be chargeable.
6. Working at Height
-
ICSS Ltd. engineers are equipped to work at heights up to 3 metres using standard access equipment (e.g. step ladders or small podiums).

Any works requiring access above 3 metres will require specialist lifting equipment (e.g. mobile towers, MEWPs) and will be subject to a separate quotation.
7. Limitations and Exclusions

If specific systems, areas, or components are to be excluded from testing or inspection, this must be confirmed in writing prior to commencement of works.

ICSS Ltd. will not be held responsible for defects or issues inin inaccessible, locked, or omitted areas that are not made available during the agreed service window. These areas will also not be included in reports.

ICSS Ltd. engineers will not move furniture, fixtures, or equipment as part of any testing or inspection works. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure access is provided prior to attendance.

ICSS Ltd. is not responsible for defects arising from pre-existing faults, end-of-life components, nuisance tripping, or conditions discovered during testing.

No responsibility is accepted for data loss, IT disruption, or equipment failure caused by necessary disconnection or testing activity.

ICSS Ltd. may refuse to re-energise any circuit deemed unsafe.
8. Remedial Works

Any defects or observations noted during inspections or tests will be reported to the client with appropriate coding and recommendations.

Remedial works are not included in the initial inspection/testing quotation unless specifically stated.

A separate quotation will be provided for all remedial repairs, which will require separate client approval prior to commencement.
9. Cancellation and Delays

Works cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

ICSS Ltd. reserves the right to postpone works due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather, site inaccessibility, or health and safety concerns.

If ICSS Ltd. engineers attend site and cannot proceed due to access issues, unsafe conditions, or client delays, call-out or waiting time charges may apply.
10. Liability

ICSS Ltd. shall not be liable for consequential losses, damages, or disruption arising from system failures or issues identified during inspections unless caused directly by ICSS Ltd.’s negligence.

Liability is limited to the value of the works undertaken.

All services are carried out in accordance with industry regulations and standards applicable at the time of works.
11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.

ICSS Ltd. shall not be liable for any consequential loss, damage, or disruption caused by the condition of the installation or failure to act upon recommendations made in the report.
